Cripe scores 21, leads Pioneer past Caston in Cass County Invite

Girls basketball

Pioneer 49, Caston 32 (Wednesday): Hailey Cripe scored 13 of her game-high 21 points in the first half to lead the Pioneer girls basketball team past Caston in the first round of the Cass County Invitational at Logansport Wednesday.

Cripe hit four 3-pointers. Olivia Brooke scored all 10 of her points in the first half. Madison Blickenstaff had nine.

Bailey Harness scored nine points to lead Caston. Abby Williamson, Maddi Smith, Jordan Clingler and Brianna Yarber returned from quarantine to play for the Lady Comets.

Pioneer led 36-13 at halftime.

Caston will play Lewis Cass in the consolation game at 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Pioneer will play Logansport in the championship game at approximately 1 p.m.
