Fairfield 5, Rochester 4 (Saturday): Tarick McGlothin had two singles and a walk, and Tanner Reinartz and Ethan Medina each had an RBI, but the Rochester baseball team suffered a 5-4 loss to host Fairfield Saturday.

Reinartz, Carson Paulik, Colton Ferverda and Hunter Campbell each contributed a single for the Class 2A, No. 7 Zebras.

Lefty Keegan Miller pitched a six-hitter for the Falcons. Cohen Yoder and Owen Garrison had two RBIs each, and Landon Miller singled, walked twice and drove in a run.

Rochester scored three runs in the top of the first, but Fairfield got to Medina, a senior southpaw, for two runs in the first, two in the second and one in the third.

Hunter Campbell followed Medina to the mound and pitched two hitless innings in relief. McGlothin tossed a hitless sixth with a walk and two strikeouts.

Rochester fell to 15-5. The Zebras were supposed to play twice Saturday, but their 10 a.m. game against Winamac was canceled due to wet grounds at Bob Copeland Field. A JV game scheduled afterwards was also canceled.

Fairfield improved to 18-5.
