Pioneer’s Brooke named to Supreme 15, will join Valley’s Mellott at Top 60 Workout

Caston’s Scales named Underclass Small School All-State

The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has named Pioneer senior guard Ashlynn Brooke to its Senior All-State Supreme 15.

The Supreme 15 is the top honor that the IBCA awards, and it is given without regard to school size. Brooke, a Ball State signee, averaged 23.8 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 5 steals per game for the Panthers, who went 21-4.

The other RTC area senior to be recognized was Tippecanoe Valley’s Kaydence Mellott, who was named Honorable Mention Senior All-State. Mellott, an Indiana University Kokomo commit, averaged 19.3 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game for the Class 3A regional champion Lady Vikings.

Meanwhile, Caston’s Isabel Scales was named to the IBCA Underclass Small School All-State. She was one of 15 players to receive this honor statewide. Scales averaged 16.4 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 3.2 apg, 3.3 spg for the Lady Comets, who went 20-3 and won the Hoosier North with a 7-0 record.

In addition, Brooke and Mellott were selected to the Hoosier Basketball Magazine Top 60 Senior Workout, which will be held at Beech Grove High School, 5330 Hornet Avenue, Beech Grove, starting at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Half of the top 60, will participate in the first session from 1-3 p.m. That session will consist primarily of players from northern and southern Indiana. A second session, which will consists primarily of players from central Indiana, is from 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Pioneer coach Jeff Brooke has been invited to participate as part of the Top 60 Workout staff.

Both sessions are open to the public. Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.
