Softball
Argos and Culver are in a six-team softball grouping in Class 1A, Sectional 50 that will also include Marquette Catholic, Oregon-Davis, Triton and Westville.
Marquette Catholic, Oregon-Davis, Triton and Westville won 11 games combined last year. None of the six teams had winning records.
Argos and Culver had previously been in a sectional with South Central (Union Mills), who was the Class 1A state runner-up last year.
South Central moved up to Class 2A due to increased enrollment.
Neither Argos nor Culver has ever won a softball sectional.
Baseball
Argos and Culver will be in an eight-team baseball grouping in Class 1A, Sectional 50 that will also include Marquette Catholic, Oregon-Davis, South Bend Career Academy, Triton, Tri-Township and Westville.
Argos has lost to Tri-Township, the school formerly known as LaCrosse, in each of the last two sectionals.
Culver fell to Triton in the sectional after splitting two conference games with them.
Marquette Catholic, who went 9-8, is the only team in the sectional who had a winning record last year.
South Central, who won last year’s regional title, moves up to Class 2A this year.
