Argos holds Career Academy scoreless in 2nd quarter, wins first conference game

Girls basketball

Argos 52, South Bend Career Academy 13 (Thursday): Madi VanDerWeele scored 10 points to lead the Argos girls basketball team to a Hoosier Plains home win over South Bend Career Academy Thursday.

Argos led 22-7 after one quarter and then blanked the Lady Trailblazers in the second quarter and extended their lead to 31-7 at halftime. Argos also held South Bend Career Academy to one point in the fourth quarter in improving to 2-7 overall and 1-1 in conference play.

Emma Dunlap and Lizzy Edmonds added eight points each, and Samantha Redinger, Bella Stults and Carleigh Miller had six points each.

Argos travels to Elkhart Christian at 3 p.m./4:30 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Saturday for another conference game.
