Bailey’s 77 helps Rochester take 3rd at Warsaw Invite

Girls golf
The Rochester girls golf team fired a 344 and finished in third place out of 16 teams at the Warsaw Invitational at Stonehenge Golf Club in Winona Lake Saturday.
Olivia Bailey shot a 77 and tied for fourth out of 96 individuals. Molly Moore tied for 12th with an 85, Ava Thomas tied for 14th with an 86, Lexi Haughs added a 96, and Laynie Migonis shot a 106.
Bailey had three birdies on the back nine – Nos. 10, 13 and 18. Thomas birdied the par-3 seventh hole. Moore birdied No. 1.
Homestead won with a 324, and Carroll (Fort Wayne) was second with a 342.
Homestead’s Bree Noll was the medalist with a 72.
Rochester has finished no worse than fourth in any of its 18-hole tournaments this season.
Rochester dropped from No. 16 to No. 17 in this week’s state coaches poll. Carroll is No. 8, and Homestead is No. 13.
