Benn goes 3 for 3 with 2 RBIs, helps Valley drub Culver Academy

Tippecanoe Valley 15, Culver Academy 1 (5 innings, Tuesday): Brittany Benn led a 17-hit Valley attack by going 3 for 3 with two RBIs, and Abby Bowers singled, doubled and drove in three runs for the host Lady Vikings in a win over sectional rival Culver Academy Tuesday.

Mackaylie Costello also singled and drove in three runs. Madi Smith and Maddie Thompson also had two RBIs each.

Corinna Stiles, Molly Moriarty and Dalynne Bussard also had multi-hit games. Stiles had an RBI. Anna Shock had a hit and a run scored, and Kahlyn Manns also had a hit.

Costello fired a two-hitter with one walk and 10 strikeouts. The only run she allowed was unearned.

Culver Academy committed seven errors that led to 10 unearned runs for Valley.

Valley scored four runs in the first inning and five more in the second to build a 9-1 lead.
