Bernicky has 2 hits, 2 RBIs, but Whitko rallies past Valley

Whitko 9, Tippecanoe Valley 6 (Wednesday): Markus Bernicky had two hits and two RBIs, but the visiting Valley baseball team fell to 2-2 in Three Rivers Conference play with a loss to Whitko Wednesday.

Evan Myers had a hit and an RBI, and freshman Dallas Martin also had an RBI. Hunter Craft, Issiac Ramsey, Cody Smith and Annikan Pettit contributed one hit each.

Bernicky allowed four runs (all earned) in 1 ⅓ innings of relief and took the loss. Myers started and allowed two earned runs over 4 ⅔ innings.

Sophomores Breyden Kirkdorffer and Easton Grable combined for five hits and six RBIs for Whitko.

Valley led 3-0 after two innings. Whitko scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth to break a 5-5 tie.

Whitko is 3-1 in the TRC. They are one game behind first-place Rochester.
