Blickenstaff homers, but Pioneer softball drops to 0-2

Softball

Logansport 9, Pioneer 3 (Thursday): Crystabelle Blickenstaff hit a two-run homer as part of a three-run sixth, but the visiting Lady Panthers fell to Logansport Thursday.

Ava Beasy went 3 for 3, Adeline Cripe contributed a pair of doubles, and Hollie Zellers and Jocelynn Vincent also had multi-hit games for Pioneer, who fell to 0-2.

Tiara Denny, Olivia Fisher, Casey Webb and Shaylee Goings had one hit each.

Denny, a freshman, took the loss in the circle. She allowed nine hits and nine runs (all earnedO in six innings. She walked eight and struck out five.

Kinzie Byrd pitched the first five innings to earn the win for the Lady Berries. Natalee Packard pitched two hitless innings in relief for the save.

Aracyn Good went 4 for 4 with a single, three doubles and five RBIs.

Logansport scored three runs in the third and never trailed. Leading 4-3 going into the bottom of the sixth, they tacked on five insurance runs.
