Caston 7-2, North Judson 6-4 (May 6): Jackson Rentschler singled twice, walked, drove in a run and scored a run, and Pete DuVall allowed three earned runs in six innings to help the Caston baseball team edge host North Judson 7-6 in the first game of a doubleheader on May 6.
DuVall allowed nine hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out six. He threw 114 pitches.
Noah Herd relieved and allowed two hits and one earned run in the seventh. He walked none and struck out none.
Herd also doubled and had an RBI at the plate. Caleb Stinson also had a hit and an RBI. DuVall also had a hit. Preston Holderfield walked and was hit by a pitch and scored twice.
Caston trailed 5-4 after five innings but scored twice in the sixth and once in the seventh to take a 7-5 lead before holding on to win.
North Judson pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts, but six Blue Jay errors led to five unearned runs for Caston.
North Judson squeaked out a 4-2 win in the second game to earn the split.
Talon Zeider doubled and walked and scored both Caston runs. Gavin Mollenkopf, Herd, Rentschler and Holderfield each had a single. Herd had an RBI.
Zeider pitched a seven-hitter but took the loss. He allowed one earned run while walking one, hitting three batters and fanning five.
Caston committed seven errors that led to three unearned runs for North Judson.
Caston was the visiting team in Game 1 and the home team in Game 2.
North Judson went on to win the Hoosier North with a 12-2 conference record.

Caston 20, Argos 5 (5 innings, May 9): Talon Zeider and Gavin Mollenkopf combined for seven hits and five RBIs in the top two spots in the batting order, and Caleb Stinson contributed a three-run triple for the visiting Comets in a road win over Argos on May 9.
Jackson Rentschler, Pete DuVall and Preston Holderfield each had two hits and two RBIs. Ryan Spin and Grant Yadon also had two hits each.
Like Stinson, Noah Herd and Edison Byrum also had a hit.
Zeider singled twice, doubled twice and drove in two runs. Mollenkopf had three singles and three RBIs.
Rentschler started and pitched two scoreless innings while allowing one hit, walking three and striking out three. Mollenkopf pitched 1 â…“ innings and allowed one hit and five runs (one earned) while walking three and striking out four. Edison Byrum pitched 1 â…” hitless innings to close out the game.
Caston won despite their pitchers walking 10 and hitting a batter.
Nate Manikowski singled and walked twice and scored a run for Argos. Jackson Kindig singled, walked and scored twice.
Dominic Burns, Ioan Petz and Noah Van Duyne each had an RBI. Brady Montgomery walked twice and scored a run.
Kindig allowed 18 hits and 17 runs (11 earned) in four innings. He walked three and struck out four. Van Duyne allowed two hits and three runs (none earned) on one inning while walking none, hitting three batters and fanning none.

Caston 6, Culver 1 (May 11): Talon Zeider pitched a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts, and Noah Herd had two hits and an RBI for the visiting Comets in a win over the Cavaliers in the first game of a two-game series on May 11.
Pete DuVall had a single and two RBIs, and Gavin Mollenkopf doubled and drove in a run. Zeider also had a hit and an RBI at the plate.
Jackson Rentschler walked and drove in a run.
Zeider did not walk a batter but worked around five hit batters.
Jonas McCuen pitched the first four innings and allowed three hits and three runs (two earned) for Culver. He walked four, hit a batter and struck out four. Caleb McCuen pitched three innings and allowed two hits and three runs (one earned) while walking one and fanning one.
Hayden Parker, Reese Herrell and Braiden Molebash each had a hit. Parker scored the lone run in the bottom of the third.
Caston led 2-1 after three innings before scoring once in the fourth and three more times in the seventh.

Caston 16, Triton 0 (5 innings, May 16): Talon Zeider pitched a no-hitter with one walk and seven strikeouts, and he also went 3 for 3 at the plate with a single and two doubles for the host Comets in a Hoosier North home win over Triton on May 16.
Noah Herd homered and singled and drove in five runs. Grant Yadon went 3 for 3 with three RBIs, and Preston Holderfield went 2 for 2 with two RBIs. Jackson Rentschler also had two hits and an RBI. Edison Byrum had a hit and an RBI, and Gavin Mollenkopf singled and walked. Caleb Stinson also had an RBI.
Already leading 5-0 after two innings, Caston added eight more runs in the third.
