Cumberland scores 18, but Valley falls to top-ranked NorthWood

NorthWood 48, Tippecanoe Valley 39 (Tuesday): Nolan Cumberland scored a game-high 18 points, and Riley Shepherd hit three 3-pointers and added nine, but the No. 10 Vikings fell to host and top-ranked NorthWood at the Panther Pit Tuesday.

Cade Brenner scored 15 points for NorthWood, who improved to 18-2. Ian Raasch added 12. NorthWood won their 10th straight game while snapping Valley’s 11-game winning streak; neither team had lost a game since December coming into the game.

Tyler Raasch scored six of his seven points in the fourth quarter.

The game was tied 20-20 at halftime. NorthWood took a 32-27 lead after three quarters.

Valley fell to 16-4.

The teams could meet again at the South Bend Washington regional on March 11.
