Mitchell Bonnell had three hits and an RBI, and Caleb Seymour pitched two perfect innings of relief with four strikeouts to lead the Winamac baseball team to a come-from-behind 5-4 win in nine innings over North Newton in a Class 2A, Sectional 34 semifinal at Boone Grove Saturday.
Winamac improved to 17-4 and will face the defending sectional champion Wolves in the final at noon Eastern Monday.
North Newton, who led 4-0 after five innings, finished 13-8.
Hayden Clark added a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Dylan Brown had a hit and an RBI, and Caleb Good, Carter Field, Russell Compton and Caleb Seymour had one hit each.
Good had four of Winamac’s seven stolen bases.
Brown drove in the tying run when he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded with two outs in the seventh.
Seymour followed Mitchell Bonnell to the hill after Bonnell allowed four hits and four runs (one earned) over the first seven innings. He walked three, hit two batters and struck out six.
