Elkhart Christian beats Argos, shares conference title with Dragons

Boys basketball

Elkhart Christian 64, Argos 49 (Friday): Jake Stults scored 10 points, Kayden Brady and J.J. Morris had nine each, and Sean Richard had eight for the Dragons in a Hoosier Plains home loss to Elkhart Christian Friday.

Michael Richard and Dylan Kindig had four points each, Elijah Osborn had three, and Teddy Redinger had two.

Elkhart Christian jumped out to a 30-13 lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 41-21 at halftime.

Argos and Elkhart Christian shared the first ever Hoosier Plains Conference title with 4-1 conference marks.

The loss broke Argos’ eight-game winning streak overall and their two-game winning streak against Elkhart Christian. They finished the regular season 16-5.

Girls basketball

VanDerWeele, Edmonds, Dunlap named all-conference: Argos’ Madi VanDerWeele, Lizzy Edmonds and Emma Dunlap were all named to the inaugural all-Hoosier Plains Conference team.

Edmonds, a junior post player, led Argos with 9.4 points per game. VanDerWeele, a senior guard-forward, averaged 7.9 ppg. Dunlap, a sophomore guard, averaged 5.8 ppg.
