Kaylee Hamilton scored twice in the second half to help the Culver girls soccer team erase a 2-0 deficit, but Bremen went on to earn a 3-2 win in penalty kicks in a Class 1A, Sectional 35 quarterfinal at Argos Tuesday.

The teams were tied 2-2 after 80 minutes of regulation and 14 minutes of overtime. Bremen outscored Culver 3-1 in the penalty kick phase.

Giselle Villegas added two assists for Culver, who finished 12-3-2. Two of their losses were to Bremen.

Hamilton, a senior, finished the season with 30 goals and her career with 75. Villegas, a junior, has 76 career goals in three varsity seasons.

Freshman Camila Jimenez scored twice for Bremen, who improved to 6-6-2 and earned a semifinal matchup with Argos. The No. 17 Lady Dragons defeated No. 13 Trinity Greenlawn 3-0 in Tuesday’s other quarterfinal.

Bremen led 2-0 at halftime, but Hamilton scored twice in a three-minute span to tie the game.

Culver has never won a sectional title in girls soccer.
