Rochester 9, Wabash 0 (April 30): Mia Howdeshell had two hits and two RBIs, and Mylee Heinzmann also singled and drove in two runs for the host Lady Zs in a win over conference and sectional rival Wabash at Fansler Field on April 30.
Darah Strasser, Jadyn Field and Aubrey Wilson added two hits each as part of Rochester’s 13-hit attack. Makhia Harding had a double and an RBI, and Aubrey Miller had a single and an RBI. Brailyn Hunter and Gabby Medina had one hit each.
In the circle, Bria Rensberger and Hunter combined on a one-hitter. Rensberger allowed one hit and three walks over six innings while striking out 10.
Hunter moved from shortstop to pitcher with a runner on second and nobody out in the seventh. Hunter struck out MyKenzie Renn and got Ella Hartley on a grounder to short before Field ended the game by picking off Lataya Judy at third base.
Wabash committed six errors while Rochester had one.
Rochester snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 6-9 overall and 2-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.
