L. Mollenkopf, Holloway have RBIs, but Peru snaps Caston’s 7-game win streak

Peru 13, Caston 2 (5 innings, Tuesday): Logan Mollenkopf had two of Caston’s four hits and also had an RBI for the visiting Comets in a loss to Peru Tuesday.

Eli Holloway added a hit and an RBI, and London Herd singled and walked twice. Carson Harness walked twice and scored twice.

Brodie Howard took the loss on the mound, allowing seven hits and six runs (all earned) in two innings. He walked three and struck out two.

Parker Zimpleman relieved and allowed seven runs (four earned) in two innings. He allowed five hits and a walk and struck out one.

Isaac Braley and Lucas Musser homered for Peru. The top three hitters in Peru’s order – Braley, Reis Bellar and Musser – went a combined 8 for 10 with eight RBIs.

Each team had five errors.

The loss snapped Caston’s seven-game winning streak. Caston (9-3) will begin a two-game set against Culver in Fulton on Thursday.
