Lady Warriors held to 3 hits in loss to Hebron

Hebron 6, Winamac 0 (Thursday): Samantha Perry, McKenzie Hinz and Emma Goodman each had a single, but Winamac lost to sectional rival Hebron at Winamac Town Park Thursday.

Catie Perry drew a walk.

Alexis Sheets allowed one run over three innings and took the loss. She walked two and struck out two. Aubrey Gearhart relieved and allowed five hits and five earned runs in four innings. She walked two and struck out seven.

Freshman Brooke Cunningham threw a three-hitter with 10 strikeouts for Hebron. She also homered.

Winamac fell to 2-1.

Winamac 5, Morgan Township 3 (Tuesday): Kaya Campbell hit a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth to break a 3-3 tie and give Winamac a win over Class 1A, No. 9 Morgan Township Tuesday.

Alexis Sheets also homered for Winamac. Campbell, Sheets, Aubrey Gearhart and Ella Gearhart had two hits each.

Sheets had two RBIs, and Campbell and Catie Perry had one RBI each.

Perry had an RBI double as part of a three-run third inning.

Aubrey Gearhart pitched four hitless innings in relief and got the win. She struck out seven. Ella Gearhart started and allowed four hits and three runs in three innings.

Lauren Moore had a double and an RBI for Morgan Township.

Carroll (Flora) 5, Winamac 4 (10 innings, Tuesday): Carroll scored two runs on a walk-off two-run double in the bottom of the 10th to hand Winamac a season-opening loss Tuesday.

Hayden Clark had given Winamac a 4-3 lead with an RBI single in the top of the 10th.

Clark took the loss on the mound. He allowed two runs in 5 ⅓ innings while striking out 10.

Caleb Seymour started and allowed three runs (no earned runs) in 3 ⅔ innings while striking out three.

Tyler Perry hit a game-tying three-run homer for Winamac.

Russell Compton had two of Winamac’s five hits. Mitchell Bonnell also had a hit. Paxton Wallace had a stolen base.
