Malchows’ 4th quarter spurt lead to Warrior win over North Newton

Boys basketball

Winamac 64, North Newton 53 (Saturday): Will Malchow scored 11 of his career-high 23 points in the fourth quarter, and John Malchow added 20 points for Winamac in a home win over North Newton Saturday.

Brendan Hines added three of four free throws in the fourth quarter and scored nine for the game.

Winamac scored 36 points in the second half without hitting a 3-pointer.

Winamac has won both of their games despite trailing after three quarters in both. North Newton led 37-36 after three quarters in this game.

Patrick Barry scored a game-high 27 points for North Newton, and Evan Gagnon had 24.
