Manikowski scores career-high 17, joins Stults, Morris in double figures in Argos win

Boys basketball

Argos 62, South Central (Union Mills) 42 (Tuesday): Nate Manikowski scored 14 of his career-high 17 points in the second half, and Luke Stults also scored 17 for the Argos boys basketball team in a road win over South Central Tuesday.

J.J. Morris added 16, including nine in the first quarter that helped Argos build an 18-12 lead. Sean Richard contributed nine points, and Elijah Osborn had three.

Argos made more free throws (12) than South Central attempted (8).

Argos led 28-18 at halftime and extended the lead to 40-28 after three quarters.

Argos won their fourth straight game to improve to 13-5. They have also won five of their last six meetings with South Central.

The Satellites won the JV game 35-20. Mack Calhoun led Argos with nine points, Hunter Xaver had seven, and Corbin Rex and Hayden Hensler had two.
