Track

Rochester 73, Manchester 65, Wabash 23 (girls, Tuesday)

Macie Nelson, Kennedy Jackson and Madilyn Calloway won two events each for the Rochester girls track team in a win over Manchester and Wabash in a three-way meet at Barnhart Field Tuesday.

Nelson won the 100 hurdles and the pole vault. Jackson won the discus and shot put, and her shot put throw of 39-2 was a personal best. Calloway won the 800 and 1,600 and claimed a third blue ribbon when she anchored the 4 x 400 relay that also consisted of Audrey Wagoner, Emily Basham and Kendyll Bradley.

Other Rochester individual event winners included Kenzie Bradley in the 200 and Zoe Seward in the 3,200.

Rochester also won the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays. The 4 x 100 relay consisted of Kasey Gray, Kendyll Bradley, Savanah Eccles and Lilly Watson.

“Another key performance came from senior Kenzie Bradley,” Rochester coach Ryan Helt said in a statement. “After sitting out most of the indoor season and the opening meet of the outdoor season due to hamstring tightness, Bradley made her 2022 outdoor debut with a clock-adjusted 13.14 in the 100, just shy of her PR (personal record) of 13.07, set last year’s regional final at Goshen, where Bradley finished sixth. Next, she ran the opening leg of the 4x100. At 53.24, she and teammates Savanah Eccles, Lilly Watson, and Kasey Gray ran the fastest 4 x 100 since the 2011 record breaking team of Katlyn Sawyer, Brittany Rife, Callie Richard, and Ashley Minix ran a 52.99 in 2011. She concluded the night with a win in the 200 in 29.14.”

Kenzie Bradley and Eccles were second and third, respectively, in the 100. Kendyll Bradley was second behind Calloway in the 800. Araceli Ochoa was second in the 3,200 behind Seward. Wagoner was third in the 400. Lucy Rangel was third in the 1,600. Ella Brooks was fourth in both the 100 hurdles and long jump. Lilly Watson was fourth in the 200.
