McKaig scores 25 in Pioneer loss to Caston

Boys basketball

Caston 52, Pioneer 36 (Dec. 2): Drew McKaig hit five 3-pointers and scored 25 points, but the Pioneer boys basketball team fell to 0-2 after a loss to Caston in the Cass County Invitational third-place game at Logansport on Dec. 2.

McKaig had eight of his team’s 10 first-half points and then added 17 more points in the second half. He was named to the all-tournament team.

Caston led 31-10 at halftime. They forced 19 Pioneer turnovers.

Caston’s Talon Zeider scored 16 points, and Caleb Stinson added 14. Zeider also made the all-tournament team.
