Miller shoots 77, helps Valley place 3rd at Marquette Catholic Invite

Boys golf

Greg Miller shot a 77 to finish in a tie for second in a field of 64 golfers and help Valley to a third-place team finish at the Marquette Catholic Invitational at Briar Leaf Golf Club in LaPorte on April 15.

Other Valley scores included Ethan Young’s 86, Wes Parker’s 87, Eli LOve’s 99 and Nash Bouse’s 100.

Miller was 4-over-par after four holes, but he birdied Nos. 5, 6 and 9. On the back nine, he double-bogeyed No. 10 and bogeyed No. 12, but he eagled No. 14 and birdied No. 15. Both No. 14 and No. 15 are par-5s.

Valley shot a 349. Lake Central won the 12-team tournament with a 333.

Miller shares medalist with a 38, Valley takes 2nd in 3-way match

Northfield 159, Tippecanoe Valley 177, Wabash 214 (May 16): Greg Miller shot a 38 to share medalist honors as the Valley boys golf team finished second in a three-way match against Northfield and Wabash over the front nine at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash on May 16.

Eli Love added a 44, Wes Parker had a 46, Ethan Young had a 49, Nolan Cumberland had a 51, and Nash Bouse carded a 53.

Northfield’s Tyson Baer was the other co-medalist. Four Northfield players shot 41 or better on their home course.

Tippecanoe Valley 155, Manchester 174, Whitko 218 (May 18): Greg Miller scored a 2-under-par 34 to earn medalist honors and help Valley beat Manchester and Whitko at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester on May 18.

Valley’s 155 was the team low score for nine holes for the season, and Miller’s 34 was a personal low score for the season.

Other Valley scores include Eli Love’s 38, Wes Parker’s 40, Ethan Young’s 43 and Nash Bouse’s 46.

Miller’s round included an eagle on the par-5 second hole and birdies on Nos. 3 and 5.

Love added a birdie on No. 2 and also birdied the par-3 sixth hole. Parker also birdied No. 5 and No. 8.

The Valley JV shot a 235. Evan Bolinger led the Valley JV with a 55.

Miller’s 36 highlights Valley win over Bremen

Tippecanoe Valley 164, Bremen 222 (May 25): Greg Miller claimed medalist honors with an even-par 36, and Ethan Young and Wes Parker shot a 40 and 42, respectively, to give Valley the three lowest scores in a win over host Bremen at The Golf Club at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth on May 25.

Eli Love added a 46, Nash Bouse had a 47, and Kolton Seaney had a 53 to round out the Valley scorecard.

Miller’s round included two birdies, two bogeys and five pars. The birdies occurred on the par-3 second hole and the par-5 seventh.

Parker birdied No. 4, a par-5.
