Moriarty’s 4 hits, 3 RBIs help Valley improve to 3-0 in TRC

Tippecanoe Valley 13, Peru 3 (Wednesday): Molly Moriarty went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, and Brittany Benn and Dalynne Bussard had three hits each for the Valley softball team in a Three Rivers Conference road win over Peru Wednesday.

Benn and Madi Smith had two RBIs each. Bussard also had an RBI. Smith had a single and a double.

Mackaylie Costello had two hits and an RBI. Maddie Thompson also had a hit and an RBI as part of the Lady Vikings’ 15-hit attack.

Moriarty had two singles and two doubles.

Corinna Stiles scored two runs at the plate and also pitched a seven-hitter in the circle for the win. She allowed two earned runs while walking three and striking out seven.

Emily Ream went 3 for 3 with two RBIs for Peru.

Valley took the lead for good at 3-2 with two runs in the fourth. They added three in the fourth, four in the sixth and three in the seventh.

Valley improved to 8-3 overall and 3-0 in the TRC. North Miami is the only other team in the conference that is 3-0, and Valley will travel to North Miami on Monday.
