Tippecanoe Valley’s Annikan Pettit and Cody Smith drew a team from Warsaw in their boys tennis No. 1 doubles sectional opener.

Pettit and Smith will face the Warsaw team of Charles Norton and Drew Ryser. Start time is 5 p.m. Tuesday at Culver Academy.

The winner will return to face the Rochester team of Robert Bozzo and Brayden Zink at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Culver Academy.

The sectional final is 6 p.m. Thursday. Teams from Manchester and Plymouth will square off in another sectional match.

The singles and doubles sectionals will take place simultaneously with the team regionals at Culver Academy from Tuesday-Thursday.

In the team regionals, Columbia City will play Culver Academy, and Peru will play Bremen in the semifinals at 5 p.m. Tuesday. The winners return at 5 p.m. Wednesday for the regional final.

The Valley team was eliminated with a 3-2 loss to Whitko Wednesday, but No. 1 singles players and No. 1 doubles teams that go undefeated in team sectional play are eligible to advance in their individual tournaments.

While five doubles teams have advanced to the next round, Whitko’s David Ousley is the only singles player to advance so far.

However, No. 1 singles players and doubles teams from Columbia City, Culver Academy, Peru and Bremen could be added to the mix if their teams are eliminated but they stay undefeated.

Admission is $7.
