Girls basketball
Pioneer junior point guard Ashlynn Brooke and senior guard-forward Hailey Cripe both received postseason recognition from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.
Brooke was named to the IBCA/Franciscan Health Underclass Supreme 15 team.
Cripe was one of 15 players named to the Senior Small School All-State team.
Other area players recongized included Argos’ Lizzy Edmonds and Rochester’s Lexy Thomas to the senior honorable mention all-state team and Tippecanoe Valley’s Kaydence Mellott and Caston’s Isabel Scales to the underclass honorable mention all-state team.
Pioneer 61, North Judson 50 (Jan. 18): Ashlynn Brooke hit four 3-pointers and scored 23 points for Pioneer as they wrapped up the Hoosier North title with a road win over North Judson on Jan. 18.
Hailey Cripe added 14 points, Brooklyn Borges had 12, and Kylie Attinger had 10.
Olivia Burkett had 16 points for North Judson.
The game was tied 31-31 at halftime.
