Dunlap adds 12 in win over Westville

Argos 48, Westville 45 (Friday): Samantha Redinger scored 17 of her game-high 22 points in the second half, and Emma Dunlap added 12 to lead the Argos girls basketball team past Westville in a Class 1A, Sectional 50 semifinal at Culver Friday.
Argos hit five of their six 3-pointers in the second half, including three treys from Redinger and one each from Dunlap and Morgyn Barcus.
Argos trailed 22-18 at halftime, but Redinger scored eight points as the Lady Dragons gained a 33-32 lead.
Redinger added nine more points in the fourth quarter. All three Argos field goals in the fourth quarter were treys – two by Redinger and one by Barcus.
Argos went 14 for 21 from the foul line while Westville went 3 for 5.
Andrea Benefield led Westville with 19 points.
Argos improved to 12-12 and earned a meeting with Triton in the sectional final at 7 p.m. today.
Triton beat Marquette Catholic 45-30 in the other semifinal. Addyson Viers scored 17 points and grabbed 20 rebounds for Triton.
Triton beat Argos 40-36 on Nov. 8 in their regular season meeting.
Westville’s three-game winning streak was snapped, and they finished 11-11.
