Two days after breaking the school record for 18 holes, the Rochester girls golf team has entered the top 20 in the coaches poll.
Rochester is ranked No. 17 in this week’s poll. Rochester finished third at the Kokomo Invitational Saturday after shooting a 336 at Kokomo Country Club.
Noblesville, who won the tournament, is ranked No. 3 this week. Westfield, who was the runner-up, is ranked No. 1.
Lake Central is ranked higher than the Lady Zs at No. 16 even though Rochester beat them head to head at the Kankakee Valley Invitational on Aug. 5. Rochester shot a 339 to win that 17-team tournament while Lake Central was second with a 341.
Rochester’s previous school record was a 338, which was set three previous times – in 2011, in 2012 and in 2013.
