Rochester sophomore Simona Faoro finished 15th in a field of 20 at the Mishawaka girls diving regional Tuesday, ending her season.
Only the top eight advanced to the state finals at the Indiana University Natatirum in Indianapolis on Saturday.
Faoro, a foreign exchange student from Italy, scored 201.40 points but did not advance to the first cut where the field was reduced to 12. However, Faoro did defeat the two Warsaw divers – Titiksha Gorhe and Sophia Stewart – who defeated her at the Warsaw sectional Saturday.
Valparaiso’s Lindsey Giesler won the regional with 397.75 points. Teammate Reagan Williams was second with 367.60.
