Haughs, Migonis shoot personal bests at Chippendale

The Rochester girls golf team shot a 342 and finished fourth out of 15 teams at the Western Invitational at Chippendale Golf Course in Kokomo Saturday.
Ava Thomas led Rochester with an 84, Olivia Bailey and Molly Moore each shot an 85, Lexi Haughs had an 88, and Laynie Migonis fired a 103.
Haughs’ and Migonis’ scores were personal bests for 18 holes.
Northwestern and Peru, the other Three Rivers Conference teams in the field, shot a 427 and 429 and finished 13th and 14th, respectively.
Logansport shot a 354 and finished sixth. They were the only other team in the field that is a sectional rival of the Lady Zs’.
The Westfield “Gold” team won with a 300. Penn was second with a 317, and the Westfield “Green” team took third with a 340.
Rochester, ranked 17th in this week’s coaches poll, beat Lake Central, ranked 16th, by seven strokes.
