RHS girls soccer blanks NM, beats Bremen for first time ever

Boys soccer
Rochester 1, Lakeland Christian 0 (Saturday): The Zebras improved to 8-4 with a road win over Lakeland Christian Saturday.
Bremen 7, RHS 1 (Thursday): Zach Pickens scored in the second half for the visiting Zebras (7-4) in a road loss to Bremen Thursday.
Collin Moren had a hat trick, and Eric Ramirez scored twice for Bremen (8-2-1).
Bremen led 5-0 at halftime.
RHS 6, Caston 1 (Sept. 19): Zack Pickens scored all six goals for the host Zebras in a win over Caston at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Sept. 19.
Wade Shafer had five assists. Parker Wallace had nine saves in goal.
Alex Hernandez scored, and Rowan Jellison had an assist for Caston.
RHS led 3-0 at halftime.
RHS 4, Metro Rage 1 (Sept. 17): Zach Pickens had a goal and an assist, and freshman Brock Bickle, Wade Shafer and Eric Eikenberry also scored for the host Zebras in a win at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Sept. 17.
Metro Rage is a club team consisting of students from Northfield and Southwood high schools.
RHS 12, Peru 2 (Sept. 14): Zach Pickens scored five goals, and Wade Shafer added four goals and five assists for RHS in a TRC home win over Peru Sept. 14. Mitchell Shafer, Jude Brooks and R.J. Keranko added one goal each.
Mitchell Shafer had three assists, Layne Backus had two assists, and Keranko and Eric Eikenberry had one assist each.
Girls soccer
RHS 3, North Miami 0 (Wednesday): Macie Nelson, Mercedes Brown and Rilya Heishman scored for the visiting Lady Zs in a win over conference and sectional rival North Miami Wednesday.
Dallas Holloway had two assists, and Heishman also had an assist.
RHS had a 19-5 advantage in shots on goal.
Kaillie Woods had five saves for the shutout.
RHS led 3-0 at halftime.
RHS improved to 2-1 in the TRC and beat North Miami for the fourth time in the last two years.
RHS 3, Bremen 1 (Sept. 19): Macie Nelson scored twice, and Mercedes Brown had a goal and an assist as RHS beat Bremen for the first time in program history at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Saturday.

RHS 6, Eastern (Greentown) 1 (Sept. 12): Kami Burkett had her first career hat trick for the Lady Zs in a road win over Eastern Sept. 12.
Dallas Holloway and Mercedes Brown each had a goal and an assist, and Amy Williams also scored.
Lilith Eaton, Abbi Richard, Macie Nelson and Rilya Heishman had one assist each.
RHS had an 11-6 advantage in shots on goal. Kaillie Woods had five saves in goal.
The game was tied 1-1 at halftime.
RHS 3, Marion 0 (Sept. 10): Macie Nelson and Mercedes Brown each had a goal and an assist, and Tessa Brooks also scored for RHS in a home win over the Lady Giants Sept. 10.
Kaillie Woods had three saves in goal for the shutout.
Volleyball
RHS def. Peru, 25-14, 25-10, 25-8 (Monday): Kaitlin Rogers had 18 kills and three blocks for RHS in a TRC road win over Peru Monday.
Hannah Houston had four kills and three blocks. Molly Conley had three aces, and Dalanie Chipps had two.
Chipps and Chloe Harris had 13 digs each, and Chipps also had 11 serves received. Conley had 11 digs and 25 assists.

Dalanie Chipps had four aces, 20 digs and 21 serves received. Rogers had three aces.
Molly Conley had four blocks and 23 assists.
Chloe Harris had 11 digs and 13 serves received. Emma Howdeshell had 29 serves received, and Kylie Houston had 13 serves received.

Boys tennis
Logansport 4, RHS 1 (Sept. 21): Brayden Zink won in a third-set 10-point tiebreak to account for the lone RHS points in a road loss to Logansport Sept. 21.
Zink split two sets with Sal Scganoli before winning the third-set tiebreak 10-7.
Grant McCarter and Zak Daake each lost in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
The No. 1 doubles team of Brock Bowers and Kyle Reinartz and the No. 2 doubles team of Cody Smith and Drew Strasser each lost in straight sets.
Logansport also won the JV match 6-2.

Four of the five matches went three sets with Grant McCarter, Brayden Zink and Zak Daake all dropping three-setters in singles and Smith and Strasser winning a three-setter.
Bowers and Reinartz won in a pair of tiebreaks over Jackson Hollenbaugh and Blake Schroeder.
Whitko also won the JV match 2-1. Cade Johnson scored the lone RHS point in singles.
