Kelly’s season ends at diving regional

Girls basketball
Rochester senior Kaitlin Rogers and junior Lexy Thomas were both named first-team all-Three Rivers Conference in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media.
In addition, sophomore point guard Emma Howdeshell earned honorable mention statu.s
Rogers averaged 8.4 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for the Lady Zs, who went 12-9 overall and tied for second in the TRC with a 7-2 mark. Rogers ranked second on the team in scoring and rebounding and first in assists.
Thomas led the team in scoring (8.5 ppg) and rebounding (7 rpg).
Howdeshell averaged 6.8 ppg, 2.4 apg and a team-best 2.6 steals per game.
Rochester went on to win their second straight Class 2A, Sectional 37 title before falling to Clinton Prairie in the regional semifinals at Frankton on Feb. 13.

Aubrey Wilson scored nine points for the RMS sixth grade “A” team in a win over Argos Thursday. Jadyn Field added eight, Bria Rensberger had six, Rilyn Strasser had five, Brailyn Hunter had four, and Kinzlee Kelly and Gabby Medina had two points each.
RMS also won the “B” game behind Gabby Medina’s 10 points and Natalia Pittman’s six.
Rochester 33, Caston 15 (6th grade, Tuesday): Aubrey Wilson scored nine points, and Bria Rensberger and Jadyn Field had seven each for the RMS sixth-graders in a win over Caston Tuesday. Brailyn Hunter had six points, and Rilyn Strasser and Kinzlee Kelly had two each.

Kinzlee Kelly scored a team-high 10 points for the Lady Z sixth grade “A” team in a win over Wabash Feb. 22. Kenna McKee, Aubrey Wilson, Jadyn Field and Brailyn Hunter had eight points each. Bria Rensberger had six, Rilyn Strasser had five, Gabby Medina had five, Gabby Medina had three, and Lexi Haughs had two.
Rochester also won the “B” game behind Medina’s 14 points. Laynie Migonis added six.

Middle school boys basketball
Rochester 33, Peru 31 (7th grade, Feb. 9): Grant Clark scored 13 points for the RMS seventh-graders in a win over Peru Feb. 9. Carson Paulik added eight, Jonas Kiser had five, Wade Bowers had three, and Conner Dunfee and Jack Reffett had two points each.
Boys diving
Kelly’s season ends at regionals (Tuesday): Rochester junior Kadin Kelly scored 228.70 points and placed 15th out of 20 divers at the Valparaiso diving regional Tuesday.
The top eight advanced to the state finals.
Kelly was making his third state trip to the regional. He broke the RHS record for an 11-dive meet at the Warsaw sectional three days earlier.
Lake Central’s Zach Ramacci won the regional with 489.40 points.
