Sports postponements: Pioneer-Northwestern scrimmage moved to Northwestern

The following sporting events have changed their starting times or locations:

Football

• The Northwestern-Pioneer scrimmage scheduled for Friday has been moved to Northwestern. Start time remains 7 p.m.

Pioneer athletic director John Bingaman told RTC4 Wednesday that it was due to heavy rains at the school’s field, plus additional forecasts for more rain this week. Pioneer Regional School Corporation was already scheduled for an elearning day Thursday due to the weather.

Northwestern has a turf field.

Girls golf

• The three-way girls golf match between Rochester, Northwestern and host Wabash scheduled for Wednesday was postponed and rescheduled for Aug. 26 at Honeywell Golf Course. Honeywell will also host the Three Rivers Conference tournament Sept. 12.

Boys soccer

• The Twin Lakes-Winamac scrimmage scheduled for Thursday has been canceled. The Winamac athletic department cited “rain damage” as the reason.

• The LaVille-Argos game has been moved up from Sept. 10 to Sept. 1. Start time is 6:30 p.m. at Argos.

Boys wrestling

• The Mooresville Holiday Classic has been postponed from Dec. 22-23 to Dec. 29-30. Start time is 9 a.m. both days. Rochester is among the teams scheduled to compete.
