Culver 42, Trinity Greenlawn 27 (Tuesday): Shane Shuman scored 16 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Emiliano Ortiz hit three 3-pointers and added 13 for Culver in a win over Trinity Greenlawn in a Class 1A, Sectional 50 quarterfinal at Triton Tuesday.
Ethan Keller added six points, all on free throws, for the Cavaliers, who improved to 11-12.
Culver outscored Trinity Greenlawn 15-4 from the foul line and had a 29-23 rebounding advantage. Culver committed just five turnovers.
Culver will next play Oregon-Davis, who received a bye, in the semifinals. Culver has already beaten O-D twice this season.
Gabe Hunsberger and Ted Skendzel had seven points each for Trinity Greenlawn, who finished 6-17. The Titans are 0-2 all-time in state tournament games.
Trinity Greenlawn held Culver to four points in the second quarter and led 15-13 at halftime. Culver came back to lead 25-22 after three quarters.
