Hoping for a repeat of their regular season meeting, the Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team drew Whitko in a sectional quarterfinal.

Valley found out their fate during Monday night’s draw.

The match with Whitko will be a replay of a 3-2 Valley win on Sept. 20. Wyatt Reiter won at No. 3 singles, and the doubles teams of Annikan Pettit and Cody Smith at No. 1 and Tristyn Ragon and Cooper Walls at No. 2 also prevailed.

Reiter lost only four games in his match to Caleb Beer, and the doubles teams lost only one game combined in straight sets wins.

Dylan Neese (No. 1 singles) and Cam Manuel (No. 2 singles) round out the Valley lineup.

The Valley-Whitko winner will play Warsaw in the semifinals. Wawasee and defending sectional champion Columbia City will meet in the other semifinal.

Valley has never won a boys tennis sectional title. Valley has not won a sectional match since beating Columbia City 4-1 in 2016.

The sectional champion at Warsaw will advance to the Culver Academy regional on Oct. 4-5. Culver Academy will also host the semistate on Oct. 8.
