Cumberland, Shepherd, Akase all score in double figures

Tippecanoe Valley 86, North Miami 39 (Friday): Nolan Cumberland scored a game-high 19 points to lead three players in double figures, and the visiting Vikings later clinched a share of the Three Rivers Conference title with a win over North Miami Friday.
Riley Shepherd added 15 points, and Stephen Akase had 10. Ian Cooksey hit three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter for nine, and Kyler Johnson also had nine. Tayde Kiser had eight, and Cooper Walls had seven.
Valley led 38-18 at halftime and extended the lead to 61-29 after three quarters.
Valley won their 11th consecutive game and improved to 16-3. They also finished TRC play 8-1. Valley’s win combined with Peru’s 54-51 loss to Manchester Friday clinched a share of the conference title.
Both Peru and Manchester are 6-1 in league play and will have a chance to share the title with Valley, whose only conference loss came to Peru at home on Dec. 17.
Valley beat North Miami for the 12th straight season.
Landen Hunt had 13 points, and Jake Riley had 10 for North Miami, who finished TRC play 0-9.
