Mia Howdeshell pitched a two-hitter and added two hits and two RBIs at the plate, and
Kallie Watson had three hits and two RBIs for the Rochester softball team in an 11-2 win over Northfield at Fansler Field Monday.
Emma Howdeshell and Sydney Haughs also had two hits and two RBIs each for the Lady Zs, who improved to 5-5 overall and 2-2 in the Three Rivers Conference. Darah Strasser and Emma Sells had two hits and two runs scored apiece.
Haley Durkes had a single. Kylie Coleman and Keyton Doran each contributed an RBI.
Mia Howdeshell allowed one earned run in a complete-game effort. She walked seven and struck out four.
Watson had two singles and a double. Her double was the only extra-base hit in Rochester’s 14-hit attack.
Rochester scored twice in the bottom of the first to take a 2-1 lead. They added four more runs in the second inning and three more in the third. The Howdeshell sisters and Strasser combined to steal seven bases.
Northfield, last year’s Class 1A state champions, fell to 3-6, 1-2 TRC.
