Watson’s homer, M. Howdeshell’s pitching highlights Rochester’s win over Wabash

Kallie Watson doubled, tripled and homered and drove in three runs, and freshman Mia Howdeshell pitched a two-hit shutout for the Rochester softball team in a 10-0 win in five innings over visiting Wabash at Fansler Field Monday.

Haley Durkes had two hits and an RBI, and Emma Sells and Emma Howdeshell had two hits each. Emma Howdeshell improved her batting average to .786 by going 2 for 2.

Kylie Coleman and Sydney Haughs each had a hit and an RBI. Keyton Doran also had a hit.

Mia Howdeshell faced 17 batters, two over the minimum. She walked one and fanned three. The shutout was the first of her varsity career.

One game after scoring 13 runs in the first against Warsaw, Rochester scored eight runs in the first inning this time. They added two in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.
