Pioneer routs Caston; Fisher throws 2 TD passes for Culver in win over West Central

Tippecanoe Valley 36, Manchester 0 (Friday): Wade Jones returned an interception for a touchdown, Branson McBrier threw two touchdown passes, and Jamasyn Virgil had two rushing touchdowns for the Vikings in a home conference win over Manchester at Smith-Bibler Memorial Stadium, Home of Death Valley Football Friday.
McBrier threw touchdown passes of 38 yards to Rex Kirchenstien and 63 yards to Braden Shepherd.
Virgil had touchdown runs of 7 and 1 yards in the second half.
Jones, who intercepted a pass for the fourth straight game, returned his interception this time 54 yards for a touchdown.
McBrier completed seven of nine passes for 180 yards. Shepherd led in receiving yards with 73, and Kirchenstien added 61.
Virgil had a team-high 30 rushing yards.
Valley had a 304-218 advantage in total yards. Valley did not commit a turnover while Manchester had three.
Valley has beaten Manchester seven straight times.
Valley (4-0 overall, 3-0 Three Rivers Conference) moved up from No. 11 to No. 9 in this week’s Associated Press Class 3A poll.

Pioneer 42, Caston 6 (Friday): Pioneer jumped out to a 30-0 lead at halftime and extended it to 42-0 after three quarters.
Sam Smith had 11 carries for 74 yards and the lone Caston touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Caston had 131 yards of total offense, all rushing.
Grant Hickle and Evan Howard each had six tackles and one pass deflection. Josh Sullivan had five tackles. Smith had four tackles and a fumble recovery.
Garrison Hickle had four tackles. Landon Shafer had three tackles, Dylan Gearhart had two tackles, and Pete DuVall, Grant Yadon, Cain Schanlaub and Bradon Malott had one tackle each.
Pioneer has beaten Caston 31 consecutive times and has not lost to the Comets since 1996.

Culver 38, West Central 14 (Friday): Blake Thompson ran 17 times for 99 yards and two touchdowns, and Tucker Fisher threw two touchdown passes for the visiting Cavaliers in a win over sectional rival West Central Friday.
Shane Shuman added 92 yards on the ground on 14 carries, and Emiliano Ortiz had nine carries for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Fisher threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Anderson and a 24-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Keller.
Shuman led the defense with seven tackles.
Culver committed no turnovers while West Central had two.
Culver led 30-0 at halftime.
