Caston blanks North White for first shutout wince 2016; Winamac, Pioneer record Hoosier North wins

Tippecanoe Valley 57, Whitko 24 (Friday): Branson McBrier threw for 273 yards and five touchdowns, and Alex Craft ran for 115 yards and two touchdowns and also had 99 yards receiving and a touchdown for the visiting Vikings in a win over Whitko Friday.
Jamasyn Virgil ran for 75 yards and a touchdown and added 43 yards receiving and a touchdown. Rex Kirchenstien had four receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns. Jacob Davis also caught a touchdown pass.
Valley outscored Whitko 23-0 in the fourth quarter to pull away. Whitko led 15-6 at one point in the second quarter. Gavin Ness returned the opening kickoff 91 yards for a Whitko touchdown.
Valley beat Whitko for the fourth straight year.
Valley has scored 50 or more points in three straight games for the first time since 1979. Prior to the Sept. 11 game against North Miami, they hadn’t scored 50 points or more in a game since 2013.

Caston 36, North White 0 (Friday): Sam Smith ran for 139 yards and three touchdowns, and Grant Hickle and Damian Sullivan also had touchdown runs for the Comets in a homecoming rout of North White Friday.
Caston had a 258-102 advantage in rushing yards.
Smith led the defense with nine tackles, and Caydin Webb had eight.
The win was Caston’s first over North White since 2012. The shutout was Caston’s first since a 20-0 win over West Central on Sept. 2, 2016.

Pioneer 48, Triton 6 (Friday): Ezra Lewellen ran for 167 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries, and Addai Lewellen, Tyler Zellers and Cayden Hill also had touchdown runs for Pioneer in a Hoosier North road win over Triton Friday.
Logan Smith also scored three touchdowns – one on offense, two on defense. He caught a touchdown pass from Hill and also returned two fumbles for scores.
Pioneer held Triton leading rusher Hunter McIntyre to 18 yards on the ground.
Pioneer outrushed Triton 328-57.
They led 42-0 at halftime.
Winamac 28, Culver 12 (Friday): Russell Compton threw for 96 yards and three touchdowns, and Trent Fox ran for 126 yards as Winamac claimed a Hoosier North road win over Culver Friday.
Fox also had two receptions for 25 yards and a score. Brayden Lynch had four catches for 71 yards and two scores.
Compton, Lynch and Fox all had interceptions as Winamac improved to 2-2, 1-2.
Emiliano Ortiz caught a touchdown pass from Tucker Fisher for the second straight week for Culver (1-5, 0-4 Hoosier North). Shane Shuman had a 2-yard touchdown run.
