Kroft scores 15, Iverson adds 10 for Lady Warriors

Girls basketball

Westville 53, Winamac 50 (Tuesday): Miranda Sparks scored nine of her team-high 15 points in the fourth quarter, and Loreli Mallon added 14 for the visiting Westville girls basketball team in a win over Winamac Tuesday.

Kandace Kroft scored 15, and Marissa Iverson contributed 10 for Winamac (1-1) in the loss. Sadie Popejoy hit a pair of 3-pointers in the second quarter and scored eight, and Kaelyn O’Connor had seven.

Winamac led 41-38 after three quarters and 50-46 in the fourth before Westville closed on a 7-0 run.
