Winamac’s Iverson scores career-high 19 in loss to Manchester

Girls basketball

Manchester 64, Winamac 48 (Saturday): Marissa Iverson scored a career-high 19 points, and Kandace Kroft added 16, but the Winamac girls basketball team fell to host Manchester Saturday.

Brookelynn Buzzard scored 10 of her team-high 18 points for Manchester in the first quarter. Hadley West added 12, and Emma Walker had 10.

Manchester built a 26-12 lead after one quarter and led 36-22 at halftime. They extended the lead to 48-35 after three quarters.

Iverson scored eight of Winamac’s 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Winamac lost to Manchester for the second straight year and fell to 4-3.

Manchester also won the JV game 37-14.
