Culver 17, Argos 3 (5 innings, Tuesday): Gracie Milam went 3 for 3 with five RBIs, including a homer, and Aiden Molebash pitched a one-hitter with no walks and 12 strikeouts for Culver in a season-opening win over host Argos Tuesday.
Abigayle Zehner singled, doubled twice and drove in two runs. Molebash also went 2 for 3 with two RBIs at the plate. Brooke Davis singled and tripled and drove in a run. Alyviah Miller, Savannah Schlemmer, Brianna Schlemmer, Madie Kitts and Hayden Lute had one hit each. Miller, Brianna Schlemmer, Emily Allen and Mailani Beach had one RBI each.
Culver scored 11 runs in the top of the first inning and led 16-0 at one point.
Catherine Huta had a hit and drove in the lone Argos run.
Ella Dean pitched one inning and allowed 10 hits and 11 runs (all earned) while walking three and striking out one. Ava VanDerWeele allowed five hits and six runs (four earned) in four innings of relief.
Argos pitchers walked 12 and gave up 15 hits.
