Girls basketball
The Caston girls basketball team will travel to Tippecanoe Valley for a game tonight.
The JV game will start at 6 p.m., and the varsity game will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.
Caston was initially scheduled to travel to Frontier tonight while Valley was scheduled to host DeKalb.
In an email statement from the Caston athletic department, Frontier canceled due to “injury and illness on their team.”
In a social media post, the DeKalb athletic department said they were not playing “out of a concern for potentially bad weather and travel conditions and a focus on academics and exams.”
DeKalb also said they will look to reschedule.
Caston and Valley will be meeting for the first time since Jan. 8, 2002. Valley won that game 64-42. Current Valley coach Rebekah Parker was a Lady Viking sophomore.
