Tippecanoe Valley senior Gavin Leininger did not advance to the state finals from the Mishawaka diving regional Tuesday.
It was unclear where Leininger specifically finished in the 20-diver field, but he did not finish in the top 12. Only the top eight at the regional advanced to state.
Leininger was competing at his first regional.
Warsaw’s Ian Parrott won the regional with 545.50 points. Valparaiso’s Evan Snyder (383.35), Warsaw’s Skyler Kretsch (371.80), Chesterton’s Luke Hawkins (370.50), NorthWood’s Gavin Dittman (362.65), New Prairie’s Grant Laskowski (358.20), Hobart’s Aiden Bailey (354.30) and Northridge’s Caleb Kreuter (352.35) rounded out the group of state qualifiers.
Parrott, Snyder, Kretsch, Hawkins and Dittman return to state from last year’s regional.
The state finals for diving begins at the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis Saturday. State preliminaries for swimming began Friday.
