Tippecanoe Valley hired Alexa Holland as its new athletic director at a school board meeting Monday.

“Holland brings a wealth of experience in athletic administration, coaching, and corporate

partnership development, along with a strong personal connection to the Tippecanoe Valley community,” Valley said in a media statement.

Holland played soccer, basketball and softball at Rochester High School before graduating in 2016. She was a member of the 2015 Rochester basketball team that Valley defeated in the Class 3A semistate at Warsaw.

She later played college softball at the Division I level at Ohio University, where she played in the NCAA Tournament. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sport Management and Business from Ohio University and went on to complete dual master’s degrees in Business Administration and Sport Administration.

“Her competitive spirit and leadership on the field have shaped her approach to athletics and education,” Valley’s statement said.

She has served as Senior Account Manager for the Ohio and Florida High School Athletic Associations, where she worked to build corporate partnerships and generate revenue for high school athletic programs.

“Through this role, Holland gained deep insight into the operations and needs of high school athletics,” Valley’s statement said.

Her experience also includes athletic director apprenticeships and internships with organizations such as Rochester High School, Athens High School, Superbowl LVI, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, ACC Women’s Basketball Final Four, Kentucky Derby, Xavier University, Yale

University, Wasserman (WNBA), CrossFit, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Cleveland Browns. Additionally, Holland has a strong coaching background, having served as an assistant softball coach at Capital University. She has also coached basketball and softball at both the high school and middle school levels.

“Alexa impressed the interview committee with her confidence, professionalism, and winner’s mentality,” Valley principal Brandon Kresca said in a statement. “She knows what it takes to

compete at the highest level and will challenge our student-athletes and coaches to strive for greatness while walking alongside them.

“Alexa will strengthen community bonds and garner support for our athletic programs. We are hiring a winner and a go-getter who will do whatever it takes.”

Holland replaces Sam Sturtevant, whom the board dismissed in October. Kresca had been serving as interim athletic director.

RTC first reported Nov. 26 that Valley intended on hiring Holland, pending board approval.
