Valley boys tennis roundup: Vikes sweep doubles in win over Mishawaka Marian

Tippecanoe Valley 4, Mishawaka Marian 1 (Thursday): William Mellott and Liam Newcomer won at Nos. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, and Valley also swept the doubles matches in a home win over Mishawaka Marian Thursday.

Thad Shambaugh and Hayden Stookey won a third-set tiebreak 13-11 to win at No. 1 doubles. J.J. Kammerer and Brent Miller prevailed 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 doubles.

Noah Mellott lost a third-set 10-point tiebreaker at No. 2 singles.

The JV match ended in a 2-2 tie.

Tippecanoe Valley 3, Lewis Cass 2 (Wednesday): Noah Mellott and Liam Newcomer won in straight sets at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively, and Thad Shambaugh and Jordan Stookey rallied from a set down to win at No. 1 doubles and score the clinching point for Valley in a road win over Lewis Cass Wednesday.

William Mellott lost in straight sets at No. 1 singles, and J.J. Kammerer and Brent Miller lost in three sets at No. 2 doubles.

Newcomer wrapped up his match with a win in a second set tiebreak.

Shambaugh and Stookey defeated Harrison Clark and Sam Hull 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Lewis Cass won the JV match 3-1.
