Girls basketball

West Central 49, Culver 42 (Jan. 25): Brianna Schlemmer hit five 3-pointers and scored 17 points, and Grace Sieber added 13 points, seven assists and three steals for Culver in a loss to host West Central on Jan. 25. 

Amiyah Williams had nine points and nine rebounds, Brooke Davis had two, and Eliana Andrzejewski had one.

Kailee Bishop scored 15 points, and Annika Smith had 13 for West Central.

Culver led 27-19 at halftime before West Central rallied to take a 39-32 lead after three quarters.

Triton 45, Culver 28 (Jan. 23): Brianna Schlemmer knocked down four 3-pointers and scored 12 points for Culver in a home loss to conference and sectional rival Triton on Jan. 23.

Grace Sieber added eight, and Brooke Davis and Amiyah Williams added four each.

Williams also had a team-high 13 rebounds.

Addyson Viers had 25 points and 13 rebounds for Triton.

Triton held Culver scoreless in the second quarter in building a 25-9 halftime lead.

Bremen 62, Culver 38 (Jan. 18): Grace Sieber had 12 points and four assists, and Amiyah Williams had 11 points and six rebounds, but the Lady Cavaliers lost to Bremen in a Bi-County Tournament consolation game at the LaVille auxiliary gym on Jan. 18.

Brooke Davis had six points and a team-high eight rebounds. Maddy Hamilton, Elexa O’Brien and Brianna Schlemmer each hit a 3-pointer.

Bremen would eventually advance to the Class 3A semistate final.

Culver 57, South Bend Career Academy 5 (Dec. 15): Grace Sieber scored 21 points, and Brooke Davis added 11 for the visiting Lady Cavaliers, who snapped a six-game losing streak with a road win against South Bend Career Academy.

Brianna Schlemmer had eight, Maddy Hamilton had five, Elexa O’Brien and Amiyah Williams had four each, and Haylie Parker and Ivon Torres-Escobar had two each.

Williams had 13 rebounds and tied Sieber for the team lead in assists with four.

Culver led 37-2 at halftime.

Culver improved to 4-10.

North Judson 46, Culver 19 (Dec. 14): Grace Sieber scored eight points to lead Culver in a Hoosier North home loss to North Judson on Dec. 14.

Brianna Schlemmer added six, Amiyah Williams had three, and Elexa O’Brien had two.

Williams grabbed 17 rebounds.

Culver shot 13 percent from the field and made just six of 21 free throws.

North Judson led 26-6 at halftime.

Culver fell to 3-10, 1-3 Hoosier North.

Knox 55, Culver 30 (Dec. 9): Grace Sieber scored 12 points to lead Culver in a road loss to Knox on Dec. 9.

Elexa O’Brien had seven, Brianna Schlemmer had six, Haylie Parker and Amiyah Williams had two each, and Eliana Andrzejewski had one.

Brooke Davis and Williams had six rebounds each to tie for team-high honors.

Culver committed 30 turnovers.

Knox led 23-8 at halftime.

Oregon-Davis 57, Culver 42 (Dec. 5): Grace Sieber hit five 3-pointers and scored 22 points and also dished out five assists for visiting Culver in a loss to sectional rival Oregon-Davis on Dec. 5.

Brooke Davis added seven, Amiyah Williams had five, Maddy Hamilton and Elexa O’Brien had three each, and Brianna Schlemmer had two.

Williams had a team-high 12 rebounds, and Davis had eight boards.

Oregon-Davis led 26-17 at halftime.

Lakeland Christian 35, Culver 31 (Dec. 1): Grace Sieber scored 13 points, grabbed five rebounds and had four steals, but Culver lost to visiting Lakeland Christian on Dec. 1.

Brooke Davis had six points, Haylie Parker had five, Amiyah Williams had four, and Brianna Schlemmer had three.

Williams also contributed 11 rebounds and five steals.

Culver shot 20 percent from the field and made just three of 10 free throws.

Culver led 19-12 at halftime. Lakeland Christian reduced the margin to 24-23 after three quarters.
