Savana Miller Bella Parker

Tippecanoe Valley 4, Warsaw 1 (Thursday): Savana Miller and Bella Parker won in straight sets at Nos. 1 and 2 singles, and Valley also swept both doubles matches in defeating host Warsaw in a sectional semifinal match Thursday and ending the Lady Tigers’ run of 24 consecutive sectional titles.

Miller beat Elise Shively 7-5, 6-1 while Parker handled Mackenzie Campbell 6-2, 6-1.

The No. 1 doubles team of Karley Hallstrom and Maci Parker rolled to a 6-3, 6-0 win over Isabelle Hoover and Ella Jarrett.

Valley’s final point came from the No. 2 doubles team of Kinley Crabb and Maycee Koch, who rallied from a set down to beat Tessa Annen and Reagan Edwards 3-6, 6-3, 6-4.

Adela Cerna lost in three sets to Warsaw’s Sofie Tumova at No. 3 singles.

Prior to Thursday, Warsaw had not lost a sectional match since 2000.

In search of the first sectional title in school history, Valley will play Columbia City in the sectional final at 4:30 p.m. today at Warsaw.

Columbia City eliminated Whitko 4-1 in Thursday’s other semifinal.

Columbia City is seeking their first sectional crown since 1981.
