Softball
Five Tippecanoe Valley and three Rochester players were voted first-team all-Three Rivers Conference in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media Monday.
Pitcher Dalynne Bussard, infielders Mackaylie Costello and Molly Moriarty, outfielder Corinna Stiles and catcher Madi Smith made the first team from Valley.
Brittany Benn earned honorable mention status.
Rochester players making the first team included infielder Emma Howdeshell, extra player Kylie Coleman and outfielder Sydney Haughs. Mia Howdeshell was honorable mention.
Bussard went 7-1 with 75 strikeouts in 59 ⅓ innings. Costello hit .351 with three homers and 18 RBIs and a .949 OPS. Moriarty hit .338 with two homers and 13 RBIs and had a .990 OPS. Stiles hit .358 with two homers and 20 RBIs and a 1.009 OPS. Smith hit .465 with five homers and a team-high 33 RBIs. Benn hit .347 with two homers and 13 RBIs.
Emma Howdeshell hit .603 with six homers and 34 RBIs. She had 27 extra-base hits and an 1.875 OPS. Coleman hit .462 with two homers and 36 RBIs and an 1.198 OPS. Haughs hit .487 with five homers and a team-high 42 RBIs and a 1.365 OPS.
Mia Howdeshell went 12-5 with a 3.62 ERA in the circle. She had 60 strikeouts in 96 ⅔ innings.
