6 area players named first-team all-Hoosier North, 4 named honorable mention

Girls basketball

Six RTC area players, including three from Class 1A state champion Pioneer, were named first-team all-Hoosier North in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media Thursday.

In addition, four others earned honorable mention status.

Pioneer’s Hailey Cripe, Olivia Brooke and Madison Blickenstafff, Caston’s Isabel Scales, Winamac’s Maggie Smith and Culver’s Maddie Shedrow were named to the first team.

Pioneer’s Mackenzie Walker, Caston’s Addison Zimpleman and Jordan Clingler and Winamac’s Kinsley Kroft earned honorable mention status.

Lilliann Frasure, who scored her 2,000th career point during the season and who led North Judson to the conference title with a 7-0 record, was named conference MVP.

Pioneer and Knox were the only schools to place three players on the first team.
