After 18-day layoff, Bussard, Costello help Valley stay undefeated

Tippecanoe Valley 15, Triton 1 (5 innings, Friday): Dalynne Bussard singled and walked and drove in two runs, and she also struck out six over two scoreless innings as the host Lady Vikings routed Triton Friday.

Malaynie Costello pitched the final three innings and allowed one hit and one run (none earned) while walking one and fanning four. Costello also went 2 for 2 with 2 RBIs and two walks at the plate.

Kaitlyn Threlkel added a double, and KC Shriver, Kahlyn Manns and Temperance Caudill added one hit each.

Caudill also had two RBIs.

Triton pitchers also combined to walk 12 and hit three batters.

Valley scored 11 runs in the first inning and added four in the third.

Valley improved to 3-0. Due to spring break and inclement weather, they were playing their first game in 18 days.
